Bagdad High School PAL Group
Bagdad High School students who are members of Peer Assistance & Leadership (PAL) continue to amaze the Wrapped in Love Diaper Bank (WiL) team with their commitment to helping Yavapai County families. This team of students has wrapped diapers, donated diapers and raised funds in support of the Diaper Bank. To date they have wrapped 2725 diapers and donated 1800 diapers to WiL.
Their passion for supporting families and children is summarized well by members of the team. They were asked in June why they supported the diaper drive and responded with the following quotes:
• The reason I volunteered to help with the penny wars for the Wrapped in Love project was because there are a lot of new moms that need help but don’t have the resources. So, when I hear of Wrapped in Love I wanted to help as much as I can. – Grade 11
• I helped with the diaper drive because I love helping people. I love doing these types of projects. Doing stuff like the diaper drive can help change and heal the world. I wanted to join because I wanted to be the difference in someone else’s life. - Grade 10
• To help others and to help families in need. Helping others is good and you have to be a role model. Grade 10: • My nephew is my pride and joy, I want every child to have a starting chance. - Grade 12
• I helped with the diaper drive because I have younger cousins that I love so I wanted to make sure other kids have diapers too. - Grade 10
• Because it’s to show the love and support we have for people in the community and if you ever think to do something for the community, do it- it’s worth it. What made me want to join this is because I love hoping people in need and showing that nobody is alone, and a helping hand is so worth it. - Grade 10
• Why I did it is so I could feel like I actually helped people cause that’s what I aim to do with my life. That’s what makes me feel accomplished. - Grade 11
These students are commended for continuing their dedication to the Diaper Bank with a most recent call to action, wrapping 1825 diapers (included in numbers above). They are a shining example of how our youth can make a difference in our communities. Thank you, Bagdad PAL Rockstars!
